Driving a bike with single configuration on all type of terrain is very difficult. On flat surface you can ride bike smoothly, but world is not flat. There are hills, we go up and down while riding the bike and sometimes even in city driving our vehicle from home to office is not feasible. Ford is looking for solutions and revealed a new electric bike that easily re-configurable for different customer needs. The bike’s center frame assembly includes the motor and battery, while the front and rear assemblies and wheels can be configured for road, mountain or city riding. The bike folds and stores inside any Ford vehicle – where it can be charged while stowed. This is Ford’s third eBike and in this version an Apple Watch brings all of the real-time data and functionality to the eBike rider’s wrist.

The  Axel Wilke, Director, Vehicle Personalization, Ford Customer Service Division, Europe said that The eBike market is growing very rapidly, with some 30 million units sold globally last year.These ebikes have their utility for short distance travel .These bikes are feature rich and can be connected with many popular smart devices .This product have been developed by a Ford Design team led by Executive Design Director Martin Smith, in partnership with cyber-Wear, the German brand behind the Ford Lifestyle Collection products, the Ford eBike Concept has been created from the ground up to appeal to both men and women.

The bike has a very elegant design with only six spokes in it to provide structural stability .It is very light weight with the frame just weighing 5 pounds. The power for this bike scomes from Li ion batteries mounted in front wheel with a drive system attached to it.The capacity of the battery id about 52Km when it is fully charged .The eBike Concept also has an integrated controller and patented magnetostriction sensor technology from the world of Formula One. In Formula One, these sensors help handle high engine revolutions in combination with intense thermal strains.

The new eBike connects with the rider’s smartphone, which can be secured in a built-in holder located at the center of the bike’s handlebars. Ford specially designed apps to offer the rider real-time information on weather conditions, road congestion, parking costs, and also public transit information. 

The bike is fulled with many other exciting feature such as it can connect with apple’s smart watch which opens a whole new set of feature such as audible alerts by giving a beep signal on smart watch. One of the amazing as well as scary facilities it provides is  “eyes-free navigation” system.Eyes-free navigation is a built-in vibration system to enable safer journeys, so if, for example, route instructions on your smartphone require you to make a left turn, the left side of the handlebars gently shake to let you take that turn.
